HAUNTED TAXI DEATH IN TAXI 2013

I started driving taxicabs in San Francisco, California on New Years Eve of 1988. I was stationed in San Francisco with the U. S. Navy and needed some extra cash and driving a taxicab partime seemed to be the ticket. I will have to admit driving a taxicab in a big city compared to living in a small town of 20,000 people was a little bit scary but I was up to the challenge. I felt that driving a taxicab in San Francisco would at least be a source of stories to tell my grand children. I drove a taxicab in Key West, Florida for 9 months. Key West, was only 3 miles long and 3 miles wide and most of the passengers were tourists that were to drunk to find their hotel rooms and an occasional hooker taking a trick to a hotel room for a quick date.
When you are a new cabbie you get the shitest shifts, the worst taxicabs, and put up with the worst hours of any person working in the cab industry. The only good thing about it is that the turnover in the taxicab industry is pretty fast so within 6 months or a year you can be at the top of the tear and get a good shift, good car, and not put up with too bad of a life.
I was assigned taxicab 2013 on several occasions. Taxicab 2013 was mechanically a pretty good cab and I found is very strange I could always get it as no other drivers wanted to drive it. I began to feel strange feelings about 2013 on full moon nights and usually between the hours of 2:30 am and 4:30 am in the early mornings. The feeling was that there was a presence in the cab with me even though the taxicab was empty of passengers except for me. I would be driving down a street and would look up into the review mirror and think I there was going to be a face and there would be nothing.
The taxicab company had a drivers lounge in which we waited until we were assigned a taxicab to wait in. The taxidrivers lounge consisted of a picnic table, pool table, and a couple of video games to play while we waited for the previous shift driver returned the taxicab to the cab company.
The taxicab lounge was full of drivers one night. The day drivers were late returning their cabs and we all waited patiently for our nightly cab. I thought about it and suddenly asked the question out loud to about 50 drivers. "Has anyone in this room ever heard of A HAUNTED TAXICAB?" The room went silent for a few minutes and in unison 50 voices said TAXI2013!
The old taxidriver in the corner looked up from his newspaper and said "Have you ever heard the story of taxi2013.
"About two years ago a driver was headed down Chestnut Street at about 2:30 in the morning. "A fellow ran out of Danny's Bar and jumped into the taxicab and ordered the driver to take him to Oakland. The driver headed the taxicab through San Francisco and headed for the Oakland Bay Bridge. As the driver headed forward towards Oakland he realized there was an army of blue lights, red lights and local policecars behind the taxicab and slowed to a complete stop. As he stopped the taxicab he looked to see what his passenger was doing and out came a 38 caliber handgun . The passenger stuck the pistol into his mouth and squeezed the trigger and blood, human tissue, and body parts scattered throughout the cab.

The passenger had just robbed, raped and murdered a local bartender.
